Types of Safety Plans

CR Safety develops site safety plans for any type of building, including low rises & high rises/major buildings, to help you achieve the highest safety standards in compliance with industry regulations. Our services provide trusted safety support for your job site.

Site Safety Plans for Major Buildings

Major buildings require a “site safety plan” that must be filed and approved by the NYC Department of Buildings in order to obtain a permit.

  • MAJOR BUILDING – An existing or proposed building ten or more stories or 125 feet or more in height, or an existing or proposed building with a building footprint of 100,000 square feet or more regardless of height, or an existing or proposed building so designated by the commissioner due to unique hazards associated with the construction or demolition of the structure.
  • 3310.3 Site Safety Plan – No permit shall be issued for the type of work listed in Section 3310.1 until a site safety plan that meets the requirements of Article 110 of Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Administrative Code has been approved by the department.

Site Safety Plans for projects that require a Licensed Construction Superintendent

For buildings that aren’t major buildings, projects that require a licensed construction Superintendent, a site safety plan will be required on-site.

  • 3301.13.1 Site safety plan. For jobs that require the designation of a primary construction superintendent pursuant to Section 3301.13.3, a site safety plan that meets the applicable requirements of Article 110 of Chapter 1 of Title 28 of the Administrative Code shall be kept on-site and made available to the department upon request.

Façade Repair Site Safety Plans

  • Existing buildings that are 15 stories or over require a site safety plan that must be filed and approved by the NYC Department of Buildings in order to obtain a permit.

Adjacent Property Protection Plan

  • Drawings like the examples below are typically used to negotiate access agreements with neighboring properties. These drawings will reflect the protections that would need to be installed on adjacent properties during construction/demolition project.
